Setup for Success with Power FC

I plan on using the Power FC for my build. At the same time, I want to ensure I am positioned with the right setup to deliver on my needs now and in the future. I'm not talking about advanced ECU features like torque management or closed loop boost control. I mean the right combination of modern support hardware and software to utilize the Power FC to it's highest potential. Some insight and feedback I'm looking for is..

Regarding support hardware
• What are the technical and practical differences between FC datalogit and FC Hako? is there a clear winner? Are there other options?
• Wideband O2; is general consensus still that PLX is the preferred? (this is what I have read) Or should others be considered?
• Is a 3-Bar map sensor necessary from the get-go; or only once I plan on running higher boost? (I feel I know the answer, but am asking to verify my understanding)
• Are there other bits of hardware (eg: sensors, gauges, processing units) needed (or preferred) that will make life with the Power FC more effective, modern and/or pleasant?

Regarding support software
• Difference between FC-Edit & FC-Pro?
• What is the place and purpose of the Powertune software? Is it intended to be a substitute to the above or a compliment?
• Are there additional (more modern) options for software that work with the Power-FC?
• Will the above or any known others function properly and easily on modern PCs and operating systems? (Windows 10)

Summary of intentions with the car:
• Now: weekend cruiser & light track day duty
•• Mods: suspension, cooling(oil, air, water)
• Future: Weekend cruiser & heavy track duty
•• Mods: above plus single turbo, fuel, etc

To summarize everything, I'm trying to figure out the ideal combination of hardware and software that is going to make life with the Power FC easy and effective.

I think the FC Hako is just a cheap knock off of a Datalogit...? I've never messed with one. Wideband o2, well most of the ones out there get the job done (although Innovate tends to be sensitive to exhaust temperature) but if you want something a cut above use one with the LSU 4.9 sensor rather than the 4.2 .

• Is a 3-Bar map sensor necessary from the get-go; or only once I plan on running higher boost? (I feel I know the answer, but am asking to verify my understanding)
It's pointless not to get one. just get a plug and play kit like Banzai Racing sells.

Just don't use 850cc primary injectors.

Regarding support software

There is no support for FC-Pro unless you speak Japanese and live there. It's a waste of time.

No. just get a Haltech honestly if you want something more modern. Haltechs don't control sequential twins or stock emissions equipment well but for single turbo it's probably a better bet.

I haven't tested it on Windows 10 but I know it works on Windows 7 at least.

The more stock it is, the more a Power FC makes sense, because it runs all that stuff out of the box (OMP, airpump, sequential twins). If you have a mostly stripped down single turbo engine you're probably better off with something more modern.

Thank you! This feedback is incredibly helpful.

Only follow on question I have is if you could elaborate on your comment to not use 850cc injectors as primary's?
