RX-7 Store's PFC Tuning?

Hey guys, i was just wondering if any one out there has had their car tuned on a PFC at RX-7 store and what they thought of the tune quality? Did you take it to another tuner and make more or less power? Also would have a retune done by Steve Kahn be something that would still be worth considering after an RX-7 Store tune or is it just going to be a negligable if any gain.

Any info would be appreciated.

You have to tell them what type of tune you want. If you want a more aggressive tune and they think your setup is not safe enough for it, then they should not do it.

Most tuners do a safe less aggressive tune because the average owner is not experienced enough to take care of a more stressed engine. You have to pay more attention to maintenance, fuel quality, and constantly monitor the engine for any sign of weakness or problems.

320whp is easy to get and safe with stock turbos/stock ports/street gas; 350 is close to the edge.

Well I do constantly moniter my cars maintenance, fuel quality, etc... So i am going to request an aggressive tune with out begging for a blown engine, i dont mind having to rebuild every 20k miles because it is a secondary vehicle. However i have non-seq, large street ports, and just about everything but a single done. I will probably run pump and race gas so, my main question was does Jason have a good rep for tuning cars well to make good power and maintain some reliability and drivability. Would someone like steve be better at this? Asking more for experience than opinion on what ill put down. Thanks though im always willing to listen, after all, thats really all i do on here is read, barely ever post.

Jason has made good power with his RX-7, but I have not heard a lot about his tuning. He may be great but isn't getting the recognition. I suggest you also inquire on the NE forum.

Steve has had a good reputation for many years and has been tuning for over 10 years.

Either one is going to give you a tune for what you want. Each is unique and would have their differences and issues. Why don't you talk to each one of them and figure out which one you are the most comfortable with?

If you're this thoughtful about it why don't you pick up a wideband and start learning how to tune it yourself? Get the Datalogit and a good wideband and have one of them tune... then learn from it. You can check to see what each tuner actually does...before and after maps.

some people arent as honored to know how to tune as you tony. but i would have to agree....youve learned to work on your car, you should atleast know how to tune it. talk with each person and see what they have to offer. you dont just go by what someone tells you. use your own common sense and im sure you will be fine( for picking a person to tune)
