removing pills with PFC

I am trying to get full boost in 1st gear, so fac I am only pulling maybe 11lbs, will about 12.5 in others. Has anyone played around with the pills for TPC to try and get faster prespooling for 1st and second? I think I haev a lazy TCA but not sure. Are any of you using other than stock pills with your PFC? I heard someone say there were using the size pettit uses for TPC .64 is this possible?

Also, I had intake temps other day of maybe 15C, so I tryied to lower boost the the stock PFC setting for 10#, well it didn't do jack except lower primary boost and give me boost spikes of almost 1 kg/cm2. WHen the secodnary came on it ran at about .92, same thing when I used my higher setting. I tho0ught maybe I surpoased the limit of WG with such cold air? is this possible or is something awry?

Thanks

I've been using the Home Depot Racing valves for over a year and they work great. No spikes and it controls boost very well. It takes a little playing with to get them just right but once you get the right they work great.

Id install the valves instead of changing the pills. Its the same amount of work but if the pills dont work you'll be starting all over.

Hope it helps,
STEPHEN

I'm using the valves as well. They can be frustrating while setting but it is better than running the car take it apart change the pills run again and so on untill you get it right. With the valves you just turn alittle and go. I have mine set with a little dip at transition, this works out great as I have never had a spike YET.

cool, I think I will try replacing the pills first since i have them, if I can;t get it rioght I will go with some valves. I can;t believe how lousy all these supposed boost controllers are including the PFC. I can't even turn down my boost lower than abut .88

cheers

I'd like to do the Home Depot Racing mod eventually (that's hilarious Stephen). Maybe sooner than I think once I get a boost gauge that's worth a damn. To you guys that have done it, do you have to tweak it for the seasons, i.e. when it gets colder, or do you just spend the time upfront getting it right and go?
