KS Re-Openning log files in Datalogit

Ok, getting a little frustrated. How do you open your saved log files using a FC edit. I can copy and past the data from the Map Watch into an Excel SS at the time it is created, which is not always easy to do on the road, but once I save the info and try to re-open it I get nothing. Here is what I am doing:

Go to the sub-menu and select Map Watch A blank 220x20 grid appears in it's own widow
Select "Files"
Select "Open"
A list of all of my saved log files appear in .txt format.
I select the log file I want to open
I get no data on the screen???

What am I doing wrong?? Thanks RD

Is your Map Watch set on some data that you logged?? If it's set on and advanced setting and you only logged Basic it's not going to show anything.

Wink

Ok, just got in from work. I will try setting to Chart.

Yes it is set to log AFR wideband. I do not understand what you mean by Basic verses advanced, but at least it gives me a place to look.

Thanks guys, I hope I can get to my logged data, I am looking forward to getting my AFR tuning started. I am seeing 9s on my AFR gauge and failing out plugs pretty quick.

In MONITOR select what you want to log.

BASIC and/or AUX A/D only must also include Map Ref to view with Map Watch with OPTIONS - MAP REF - LOGGED set. Then select any of their parameters to look at.

When ever ADVANCE is logged, do not turn log MAP REF as it slows down logging and is not needed. But you have to read in your map first and set OPTIONS - MAP REF - ADVANCE.

You can not swap logs between the different versions of the DL ( FD3S vs UNIV). It must be viewed with what recoeded it.

Thanks, I think I get it! I got all my original log files to display except the last one. (The one where I did some serious logging Oh Well). It looks like I inadvertently saved over my data and got only a brief period at idle logging saved. Part of the learning curve......at least I now know how to get where I need to be.

Thanks again, this would be a lot harder without the help you guys offer.
