Quick question on PFC

I'm asking this question for a customer of mine.

If you take a tuned PFC out of one RX-7 and plug it into another RX-7 will that wipe the tune out of the PFC?

I recently did a motor swap on a customers car that had a already tuned PFC but had no commander. I wanted to see what kind of injectors the car was running so I took the PFC out of his car and took it home to plug into my car (both are FD RX-7's). I never started the engine with his PFC plugged into my car and only turned the key to the ON position so I could see what kind of injectors he was running.

The customer is now claiming that by swapping the PFC's it wiped the tuning out of his PFC. Is their any possibility that this could happen?

Not that I'm aware of. The maps should still be there. I know because I've seen more than one being sold with maps for specific mods. Threads like:
"PFC for sale. I have a single turbo, bigger injectors and a V-mount, so this won't work with your stock FD until it's tuned."

This tells me that the tune remains, even with no power to the unit.

I figured, I just wanted to get confirmation from other people.

I haven't heard of that happening. I had a friend who purchased a used PFC and it had a crap map on it for his setup, so obviously the map carried over.

Removing a PFC or disconnecting the power has absolutely no affect on the PFC map.
If it did, then we all would be blowing our motors. No company including A'pexi would ever make such a supid piece of eletronics.

That would be like having a cell phone or computer that erased all when the power was disconnected or turned of.

Get real!
