I don't yet own a Datalogit, nor am I a member of the Yahoo group (if it still exists), but I am curious as to how the Datalogit community is growing.

By that I mean are there a decent number of PFC owners buying in, are maps being tweaked and tuned and shared around, etc? Basically, is knowledge transfer going on among owners? I'd like to buy the unit, but I need a good source of info for research and posting of questions.

Please share your opinions on the Datalogit now that it has been available for awhile.

My opinion: Excellent program, easy to use and easy to access and make changes quickly. You don't need to squint to read the screen, map changes are a snap, doesn't work well w/ FJO wideband, I was happy till then.. not sure about the other WB's. Customer support is sort of weak, having to depend on others to answer your question/problem. Overall value is excellent. I believe there isn't much map sharing due to not enough wideband/Datalogit usage at this time, also many of us are still tuning and tweaking.

If you have a PFC, definately get a Datalogit.

 

It is not a perfect program but for the price its not like you are shelling out allot of money. Just to change the fan settings alone is a big bonus plus if you want to go with 1600 injectors there are some setting you can't get to with the commander. I think the Haltech guys have much better support and were I to go back in time I may have gone that route, but in the meantime this is working and with datalogit you are not totally dependent one one shop for tuning so you have some more options. For the price of a dyno tune you can get a datalogit and a diy wideband and never have to bend over for anyone again. As far as map sharing, it could be better, i don't know why people are putting up maps, I have mine up and when I finish my new map I will put that up as well, but I can't speak for everyone.

1. The Datalogit goes up in price August 1 (see below)
2. Glen is really getting into the game. He just recently got a hold of a 7.07 map from a series 8 (this is an Apexi base map for a 1997). I have been running it for about a week - so far, so good. I can't tell you if its any better because I have done a few mods at the same time, but it appears to be smoother running.

As soon as Glen started getting serious about his own car, the Datalogit became extremely valuable to me. I am still waiting for my DIY wideband to make the system whole.

I wonder when Datalogit will be on RP's web site and how much $$$.

I'm looking at buying one from RP (glen said that is the only place I can get one if I'm in the US) for 350.00 Only problem is I can't get anyone to tell me the min computer requirements. ANybody know? Thanks

 

The data in the picture was logged with a P133 Hitachi with 8OMB Ram and Win2K. ~6 samples per second in this configuration.
