Power FC Profec.... Spec II vs. Type-S
Profec.... Spec II vs. Type-S
Alright, I'm in the middle of ripping out the mess that I have slowly discovered left from the previous FD owner. He had a Haltech E6K and Apexi AVC-R. And a completely rewired by his own mind main harness. Rather than **** with trying to figure out whats going on, we're pulling the crap harness, putting in a new original one, replacing the Haltech with a Power FC, and replacing the AVC-R with a Greddy Profec.
Except that I always assumed I wanted a Type-S, but there are so many Spec-II's for sale in the forum... would be much easier to pick the spec II up.
Is there much of a difference? Do any of you have preferences? Why?
Ah, will be running a rebuilt ported 13B with 3mm seals and a T66 single if that helps at all.

Well then whats your question?? The digital one is going to have more features if thats what your getting at? I would get the spec 2. I have one and it is very usefull in getting the spool up just right.
That could cover it I guess. Is the display the only difference between them? I know the Type-S answers the mail, and I would assume the Spec II is as good, and similar if not the same in application, but before I go after a Spec II I want to know.
why do you think you need a digital display? search the 3rd gen section for lots of reviews on both and also the older spec 1. IMO, the spec 1 and type S are the best b/c they are easy to use and setup. I've read too many long threads from people trying to figure out how to setup the spec II

I've been told that the Type-S is a better performer on most applications. I believe it was on the stock sequential twins that the Spec II couldn't always handle the boost. This is what I have heard from many sequential owners. I'm in the process of looking for a Type-S, myself...
