Problems with Datalogit program installation

Ok, what exactly do you click on to install FC_Datalogit on your PC? I've tried clicking on setup and FC_edit (and everything else for that matter) and I get a message saying the file is corrupt and it's performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. Glen, you REALLY need to make this for the Mac OS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Computer savvy with a Mac but apparently not with Windows 98.

Are you installing off the disc or the program from the website? If you are trying to install off the website then it won't work. You have to install off the disc first then upgrade from the website. I installed mine on windows xp pro with no problems. Let me know if this helps at all.

Yes I'm installing off of the disk. I discovered that there's actually an "installer" program within Windows 98 and that seemed to work or at least get me further along. Unfortunately, it still says the program is corrupt. I think the disk itself is bad.

Update! After the umpteenth time of trying to install it, it seems to have worked. Woo Hoo! Houston, we have liftoff. Just opened it and I'm looking at the FC Edit window. What's the latest version? I have v1.02. Seems to work fairly quickly too. This is Virtual PC 5.0 on OSX. I'll try and datalog later today (still have to install a USB driver, sigh....)

I'll have to wait a bit to install the USB to serial converter, but I should have an answer by late tonight. Seems like all of this will work however. Good news, eh?

Ok, managed to install the serial to USB driver between assignments. Seemed to go smoothly. Looked in the control panel under USB and it listed the third party software which means it was installed correctly. Unfortunately, I keep on getting a message which says something like "port not responding". I remember a few others having a similar problem. What did you do to solve it?
