Whats up guys, my PFC Commander backlight has been acting up for awhile now, usually it works but sometimes it will stop for a week or so. However the other day it stopped working and we unplugged my PFC from my car and put one from another car just so that we could use my commander and datalogit to change some settings on the other cars' ecu and the commander backlight started working while that ecu was in. Is there any kind of backlight disable setting in the commander or datalogit settings? I have the commander contrast settings correct. I'm thinking its either that, a settings problem, my firmware needs to be reflashed, or just the backlight has to be replaced. Ideas?

Check the connection at the PFC. If the plug is just a little loose, it will give similar symtoms. My solution was to put some clear silicone around the plug and let it set up to keep it from coming loose again. It's worked for about a year now. IIRC there is also a documented issue of wire leads being too short as they enter the Commander and causing wires or solder joints to break.

 

Is this problem like having the commander start dimming and fading repeatedly every 3-4 seconds and sometimes just rebooting? Because I'm having that issue and it's pissing me off. It happens every once in a while, maybe every 3 times I drive the car...

 

No sometimes when I start the car the backlight just won't be on at all.
