Power FC self Learn explain

Ok I got a question on the Power FC. I know at first recieving the FC you have to let it learn. Well after the Learn process is over and have put some miles on the car. Is the Power FC self adapting ECU??? what I mean is for example, a vaccum hose has popped off will the power FC compensate for the extra vaccum leak??? if so how SELF adapting is the Power FC and what is its limits in adapting to different engine wear? And if the battary was to be disconnected does it need to self learn again? and How do you reset the learn without going it to INITAL DATA RESET which would erase your map and switch to Japanese base map.

The only self-adapting the PFC does is to learn how to run a stable idle under different conditions. Pulling the battery does nothing, all of the PFC's settings are stored in ROM. The only way to force a fresh relearn of idle is to re-initialize the PFC. If you have a datalogit, this is no big deal because you can just reload the map you were using.

There is no "learn" mode. The PFC may have to spend some time relearning idle when you reinitialize, just as if you were installing it initially.

Does the self learn ONLY happen the first time I start up after I reinitialize the PFC???? Can I run the self learn process anytime???

Unfortunately, I've already got a map loaded and don't have a datalogit to back it up and reload.
