POWER FC questions - single tune

Hey guys,

I was wondering if wanted to start boosting my car a little since its got about 1,100 miles on the motor, what can i do about the tuning.

Right now i have the stock Base maps on my powerFC, running single, with stock injectors. i was planning on running a little premix in the fuel too.

I wanted to know if theres anyway i could adjust the maps so i could boost a little, i think the WG spring is like 7-8 psi. maybe 10 but i dont think so. So is there anyway i can make it when i hit around 4,000-4,200 it just starts running real rich just to about 5,000 - 5,200 rpm (Id set the rev limiter to that). just to feel it kick a little. haha.

Do you have to have the datalogit to do this?

i have a little experience on the PFC. It was dumping too much fuel at idle the injector duty was at like 8% and the car would smoke at idle, so i went into the screen with the cells and tuned it down a little now its at like 4-5% and it doesnt smoke anymore.

I talked to one of my friends that does a little tuning on his own to his own car about what i should do. And he said hes going to look on the datalogit site for a map with setup similiar to mine using stock injectors, and load it on my powerFC. and it should run richer on boost then the base maps right? so it should be safer to boost alittle up to like 8-10 psi or so?

Last night i set the rev limiter to 4,300...and i tried boosting it a little while carefully watching my boost. And the boost came onto 5psi right around 4,200 u feel it kick and right then it hit the rev limiter and i shifted. At least i know this ebay pos makes a little boost. haha

so do you think with the maps it would be safe to run it to maybe 5,700rpm? i dont plan on pushing it full to redline til i get that new turbo, boost controler, injectors and full tune.

I'd say no its not safe, a lot of those posted maps are no good, for example the XS single turbo map is way too lean if you just enter the posted data in with the commander. There is a lot of hidden stuff going on with the PFC that you can only access with datalogit, or with the Apexi software.

You have two choices in my opinion. Either buy a good wideband and a datalogit to tune your car with a laptop, or pay someone to tune who knows what they are doing. Entering someone else's map into your car could cause you to pop your motor, or even run too rich and be way down on your power potential.

Well someone come tune me! my friend has a datalogit and is coming this saturday. Except i dont think he has a wideband we cud jsut hook up since i only have 1 bung for my 02 sensor, unless it uses that one. and his wideband is installed in his car.

If he just loaded the map and i had him add fuel in all spots where i come on boost, would that be better? id rather run richer than leaner. Plus i plan on running two stroke when he does incase it is too rich.
