Power FC and model year?
Does the Power FC work for all model year FDs? Is there anything that has to be set up differently or any differences in installation procedure?
Thanks,
Thanks,

The owner's manual states that the PowerFC is for '91/12 ~ '95/11, manual transmission RX-7s. I suppose that's FDs manufactured from Dec. 91 to Nov. 95. To my knowledge there are no differences in setup or installation.

This is a post from Glen of NZ datalogit fame (hope he doesn't mind hte repost) which answers your questions and then some. The Datalogit instruction manual (early version) is available BTW. Looks like a great tool which will eliminate a lot of our complaints with the PFC.
FYI. There are 2 Main Japanese Power FCs.
It all gets a bit confusing. You can skip the next bit if you like.
The first model Power FC (Type 2:~~) was made for the 1991~1995 FD3S RX7. (series 6).
(It is easily distinguished by a 3 pin boost controller output plug next to
the commander socket).
As you probably know Mazda up-graded the FD in 1996, (series 7).
Apexi built a new version of the Power FC, (Type 5:~~), for the 1996 FD,
(series 7).
(Which is distinguished by a 5 pin boost controller output plug next to the
commander socket)
This first 5:~~ Type isn't compatible with the series 6 FD.
They then discontinued the 2:~~ Type.
There was still a demand for a Power FC for '91~'95 FD3S so Apexi made a series 6 compatible 5:~~ Power FC. (Type 5:~~ series 6 won't run a series 7 FD but they share the same commander).
In 2000 Apexi released a Power FC for the 1999 (Series 8) and there is one for the 280ps version too.
There is also a Drag Power FC.
I'm not sure what's special about the drag version as they won't export them and i haven't looked into it yet. Perhaps a Launch Control or a couple of rev limiters?
We aren't sure what these are yet, but we will make the "FC-Datalogit" compatible if required.
