Power Fc On Auto Fd
Yesterday morning I tried to start my car and it wouldn't want to start.
Anyways, the guy here in Modesto told me that the ECU went out of commission. So, I check with the dealers and the stock ecu is $1400.00. I balance the PFC and the stock ecu at about the same price range.
I know that the PFC works with the auto fd but would it pass smog with the pfc install.
Thanks,

You're pretty nuts if you go to buy a NEW ECU. ECU's are DIRT cheap used - I bet you can pick one up for $40 or so.
By the same token, ECU's VERY rarely go out. I'd get a second opinion. You'd have to do some VERY messed up stuff to kill an ECU.
The PowerFC does not work properly with the automatics - search on that topic. There has been some progress made on making it work right, but no one's ever really found a solution. Considering most people with autos that get to that level look at a 5-speed swap instead, it's something of a moot point.
