PLX 300 Narrow Band Output

I bought an RX7 about a year ago. Had a bad engine which I have rebuilt. Also had a Microtech ECU which I removed and want to replace with a PowerFC.

So here's what I have - the car came with a PLX 300 wideband. According to the manual there are two outputs. One is narrowband and the other wideband. I want to take the narrowband output to my O2 sensor connector on the emissions harness. Later when I get a datalogit I will connect the wideband output to the datalogit. But when I started to trace down the wiring I found that the previous owner had tied the two outputs together before connecting them to the Microtech. I have attached pictures to try to make this more clear.

Do you all agree with what I want to do? Separate the outputs and connect as I said earlier?

Thanks for your help,

Jeff

Don't people read instructions anymore? And evenso its common sense that you just don't splice 2 things together out of the blue lol. Probably why the engine was bad, I doubt the readings it was tuned with were correct.
