I forgot to remove my wires and the car ran crappy and wouldn't idle very well. I went back in and removed the wires and after about 20-30 minutes of running, it smoothed out pretty well. (this was on a fresh rebuild, so I'm sure it was also breaking in during this time too)

dont be lazy, just cut them, u are supposed to do it for a reason, i dont think it would run too bad tho. Im pretty sure the wires are for the OMP and the 3000rmp start up mode thing, if i remember right.

What the wires do are in my PowerFC FAQ at http://www.clubrx.org

You don't have to cut the wires - just pull the pins out of the connector and tape them up.

Do youi have to cut wires for a 1997? as far as I know they are different wiring harness.
I only have my 1997 so I can't compare to a 1992. But I do already have the Apexi Power FC

If you have to cut the wires on this year as well does anybody know what ones they are?

I dont think you need to cut the wires for 97, since it is a update version. In fact, the reason for US' rx7 need to cut wires because of the US laws are restricted the air pollution and the emission system.

since you car is in New Zealand, i dont think you need to cut any wires.

oh ok cool, but mine did have all the emissions stuff on it which I have removed, someone said the wires run things like 3000rmp idle for warm up etc, shouldn't I need to cut them to stop those things?
I also have done the throttle body mod where the coolant line gets removed, so I thought I'd need to disable it for that anyways

Thanks for the input
