pfc ....could it be bad?

94 fd. engine breaks-up terrible around 5k under load @ different boost levels..tried it from 5-15psi. i can run past 7k with no boost and it's fine. engine is less than 1200 miles old. only has street port, non sequential twins, d/p, 1300 secondary inj's, and of course pfc. boost level on pfc has been turned off. we have tried several different maps, changed coils, igniter, plugs. none have change the symptoms. engine idles around 18" of vac. customer sent pfc back to rx7store and they say it's good? will be logging with w/b soon but, any ideas?

boost level on pfc has been turned off.

What does that mean? Hopefully you haven't set the pfc boost to zero.

If you're using something else to control boost, such as the profec b, you need to set boost on the pfc above that which you're trying to hit. For example, you want 12 psi, set the pfc to 1.0 kg/cm^2 or so, because the pfc will fuel cut if it senses boost 0.25 over it's setting. This info is in the commander manual.

You may also want to set up the pfc in single turbo mode since the turbos are non-seq.

Even if you do not use the PFC for boost control, you have to set the boost level above what you are running or else fuel cutoff happens!. Have you read and looked into that?

I have the same problem and have had no luck, besides I might be running rich and to get it tuned properly with a wideband and dyno. I have basicly the same mods. My PFC boost settings are way above what my boost controller is set at, so that is not my issue. Not sure how to help.

PFC is probably not bad, sounds like a slight tuning issue like mine.

Stuck injector? Did you have them cleaned when you did the engine? Obviously, I'm suspicious of the secondary ones. Primary ones are ok as it runs fine up to 5K.
