Unhappy Pfc Commander screen is frozen

I have been using the power fc for a while now with no problems other than idle regulation when the ac is engaged. So this problem comes as a surprise to me when I've heard nothing but good things about this equipment.

I had just finished flushing my coolant system when I took it out for a spin to see what my temps are like with a new coolant I am trying. I was reading 73' Celsius. I thought, whoa! that's great, it is staying relatively low. Then I noticed my boost was reading vacuum as I accelerated. The screen froze up like my computer does. I looked to make sure the connection wasn't messed up and restarted it. Instead of giving me a diagnostic screen it gave me the start-up screen and that is all. I can't command it to do anything. I went back and tried to spark the screen up later to no avail.

My car runs fine, so I think the computer works, I am concerned, however, that maybe this will affect my car in some way other than not having a commander.

Any sort of help will be fine. I did use the search and found no results pertaining to my problem. This was done so that I might have further validation for my post.

Garret,

The obvious but: did you disconnect the commander plug into the PFC for a bit, then re-connect?

Try disconnecting it and plugging it in as stated above. Then try disc. the battery for a few minutes and see if that works. If not, then the commander is probably bad- which will not affect the way your car runs. This happened to me a couple of years ago. If I remember correctly all I couls see was the apexi start up screen. I had to replace the commander. Sorry for the bad news.

Try opening the commander and checking for a broken wire where the lead is soldered to the PCB. This happened to me once and had the same symptoms.

You don't need the commander for your PFC to work properly. It is just a monitoring and settings tool. It sounds like it's dead. Could be dead dead, or could just be a broken wire. Personally I would take it apart and try to verify connectivity of all the wires between the DIN plug and the inside of the commander with a voltmeter/connectivity tester because I went out and bought a new commander.
