PFC after CWR IC Install
This one got me stumped:
Just put on the Crooked Willow IC last nite and started the car up. Mind you, it's been on jack stands since end of Dec 01 and I had the battery out since also. Welp, the car stumbled and idles like it's blown a seal (vacuum around 10-12 mmHg). So i check the ubiquitous MAP sensor line...still on. Then i go to the Test IGN/Timing Settings page and dial down the Inj Correction. I dial it down by 0.500 (50%) and it idles way better...but I think it's still rich as it shoots flames and exploded (crackling sounds) outta the exhaust. Knock reads only 14-20.
I wudda thunk an IC would lean things out? Do i need to adjust my PIM or other global parameters? What should the PFC boost read on idle (mine sez 0 mmHg when my boost gauge sez 12mmHg).
TIA.

HedgHog, Try retarding your cams and check the balance shaft belt is good and tight. No, the I/C will not cause your car to run rich. After I'd installed my FMIC, my car still idle the same. It maybe that your car was sitting for so long that the fuel might have oxidized during storage. Or I can be a faulty primary injsectors. Mine was dumping fuel after shut off, which cause the car to flood.

The PFC does not have learning problems unless the engine is way out of tune.
If you car was setting up since DEC and not frequently started, your fuel might have gone bad, and/or injectors or other control devices have gotten stuck.

thx for the advices.
Gonna double check the MAP sensor...i think it may not be reporting the proper voltages. I'll also check to see if my plugs are fouled and put some fresh gas in there. Problem is that i "stored" the car with a pretty full tank.

This is so embarrassing....I'M THE DUMBASS.
Had the MAP sensor hose plugged into some metal nib sticking outta the throttle body instead of the actual vacuum nipple. Duh! and Doh! Now car is happy again.
Sorry for the panic, folks. Nuthin' to see...move along.

Good lesson learned.
If an engine was running fine, and then after a little maintenance or modding it doesn't; most of the time it is something hosed by the person doing the work.
It happens to all of us. That is why you first go over everthing you did and what it near it!
