Which one?

Hi Guy's,
this is my first post on here so please be gentle!

I'm about to upgrade my RX-7 and don't know which apex'i unit to go for:-

Power FC - this is a replacement ecu, right?

They also sell in England AFC's which, from what i understand, leave the original ecu in place. They sell seperate fuel and boost controllers.

Any help you guys could give me on which type to go for would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Steve

The original FD ecu is a 8 bit computer and is slower than the latest 16 bit ecus in Japan. There are four options for upgrading/modifying the ecu to handle an engine producing more power.
(1) have the stock ecu reprogrammed for your mods.
(2) a piggy back computer or add on that allows you to change the run time parameters. These include the HKS add on products and the PFS PMC.
(3) Apex PFC replacement ecu. Allows you to change the run time parms at will.
(4) Other replacement ecus like Haltech which require their own wiring harness instead of using the stock one. I am not experienced with these. Include in this set is the Wolf unit.

I recommend the PFC if you plan to constantly modify your engine but do not want to go above about 350 RWHP. For only minor mods go with a reprogrammed ecu from Pettit or Mostly Mazda.

Thanks for that mate,

decided to go for the PFC. Bargain price on the Group Buy at the moment!
