Well I assumed he already had the datalogit. And for future reference; I am not against people correcting me if I'm wrong.

USB Cable

Hi Markus, I assume the datalogit is the software that runs on the laptop? If this is the case I will only need the interface between the PFC and the USB port of the computer I'm using. If this is not the case then I will need the appropriate HW and drivers to interface with the PFC. Either way, when I get closer to implementing the sensor readout driver I will ask for assistance as to what I need at that time. I'm starting to get more focus on this project.

Thanks
Jim

The datalogit is the hardware interfaces to the PFc. From the datalogit you interface to it via a serial port. As most laptops no longer provide a serial port you need a Serial to USB converter. There are several software currently available to interface to the datalogit (consequently the powerfc); one of such software is called FC Edit.

PFC Interface

Thanks for the info. When I get to that stage I will need some help understanding what I need. Also I'm looking for a hardware guy that I can work with to develop some additional hardware interfaces. One of them would be to interface a remote radar antenna with the Car-PC. This way I can control, acknowledge anything I need from the interface. I'm also looking into integrating a rotary dial or a finger pad to use as an additional controller besides the touch screen.

InVehiclePC

For those interested I have put together my framework for hosting applets within my InVehiclePC application. The first image is the main page that is showing the start of my applications. The second image is the start of my clock applet. If any one has some suggestions for what features this should support please feel free to make suggestions. The clock will have of course the current time, a timer and a stop watch. I will also hook it into my GPS support for an autotimer mode. When the car starts moving it will trigger the timer. I don't have any timeframe for completion, the clock functionality will be done first, the the GPS and finally the ECU. After that I will install the PC and integrate other car features. Thanks in advance for any comments.

InVehiclePC

Hi Markus, this is all written in C++. This is just the start, I plan on integrating more functionality but I started with this to flush my architecture and design out. I also plan on interfacing a rotary **** for selection as well. I will make a panel to support the rotary **** and install it where the compartment is on the center console.
Thanks

Hi Markus;

Maybe we can get together offline and discuss what your interface is and if I could model it or we can collaborate and include it with my project? I can't wait to see the video.

Thanks

feel free to incorporate it in your project it still needs some work , as the gauges are laggy

Video of the current status is here

Sorry i put this on wrong thread, but just in case someone can help me out ill leave it here

Im looking at implementing a digital dash powered by Raspbery pi in my R34 skyline.

During my research i found this post https://www.rx7club.com/power-fc-for...3/#post4094863 and i was wondering if anyone had tried using the pi's i2c interface and eliminating the need for a FChacko/datalogit/etc?
