Question Need Power fc Help!!! Professionals please read.

Anyone know a way to test the secondary setup (pfc)? I don't mean testing the injectors or wiring. I need to see if the power fc is sending a proper signal to the injectors.

I'm getting a loud bogging noise when I hit more than 1/3 throttle. I lose power slightly but I don't hold the throttle anymore as I fear something might happen. Other than that the car drives quite well.

It sounds like a fuel situation. I can only think its fuel cut, going pig rich, or something I cannot remotely predict. Any information on troubleshooting this problem would be greatly appreciated. I'm almost ready to send out the secondary injectors to get them flowed and or putting in another power fc.

What's your setup?

Any changes since it was running fine? I remotely remember that you were going to install an FJO Injector Driver...?

Any wideband?

Do you have a Datalogit? If so look at the primary / secondary overlap.

Also, I don't think that you are getting into the secondaries with just 1/3 throttle; does your injector duty show 35-40%?

Brand new harness my friends I'm not super good with the tuning or pfc settings. In the slot just to the right of the injectors is the lag right? No wideband. Maybe I should just put someones commander on and check on the duty cycle??? My whole setup goes to great lengths but what is relevant here is the 1680cc secondaries and 850cc primaries (both are top feed low impedance). Let me know what you guys think of or what else you need to know.

You need a laptop, datalogit, wideband would be good, and the commander would be helpful.

Can't really help you if you don't have any information on what your car is doing, as it could be a bajillion things... Injector setup, overlap, lag, too much fuel, not enough fuel, TPS not set correctly, etc, etc...

I have a data loggit. Is there anything you could tell me to look for and what to log? Is there anyway to check on the commander any type of secondary injector operation? Thanks

Check the wiring of the 2ndary injectors:
1) wrong wire (front and rear mixed up)
2) resistors failed or the path is bad...check the path with a voltage meter from the ecu to the fuel injector

This is from personal experience.

The secondary injectors don't just come on because you hit more than 1/3 throttle. The stock settings of the PFC turn the secondaries on after the primaries hit 47% duty cycle. Get Chucks notes he explains this.

As for what to log to see if they are coming on. Log either the basic or advance function and look at the injector transition, which will be in a %, if it goes to 47% then drops back down to ~20%+ or so then they are coming on.

This may not help. Example: If the PFC logic functions are working normally but if the injector the wiring is bad, the PFC inj outputs may be normal. The PFC will display what it is doing based on the tables. It may not know that the wiring is bad or even respond to it..

AFRs will be a better display. If previously AFR tuned when all was OK, and now there is a problem, the AFRS would go lean at that 47%.

My fault, I assumed that it was smarter than that. But I guess I should know by now it doesn't really read much of anything, it just uses tables.

I've tested the connectons to the injectors... It's all good. Also, the wiring is correct rear rotor has the rear injector wiring. I really really just need to pop in another pfc and see if it cures this problem.
