Exclamation need Power FC adjusting help....subaru owner.

ive been a member on rx7club for a while, mostly lurking...i used to have 2 FC's but now im building an impreza. i come to the rx7club for help with the Power FC, because the subaru community is light years behind when it comes to having helpfull info to share.

anyways...im having an issue with my wideband, and making adjustments on my Power FC and Commander.

setup:
V3 STi EJ20
TD05-16G (running wastegate boost only, 9lbs)
USDM STi 550cc, side feed injector's
Perrin up-pipe
Perrin 3" catless downpipe (divorced gate)
JIC 3" Ti catback (resonated)
CX-R FMIC
HKS EJ20G intake elbow, MAF adapter with velocity stack
ARC atmospheric BOV
ported and polished throttle body
gasket matched intake manifold runner's
Apex'i Power-FC and Commander
PLX M-300 wideband

with the wideband installed, on the stock Z4 ECU, with the above setup....the wideband says the car is running lean 17+AFR's.

with the wideband installed, on the Power FC, with the above setup, and the adjustments made for the 550cc injectors vs. the stock 440cc injectors (80%IDC, +.03ms) ...the wideband says the car is running lean 17+ AFR's.

heres what info i have about the stock injectors vs. the STi 550cc yellow top/sidefeed's.

440cc= .69ms
550cc= .76ms

heres what i have done in the PFC:

for injector correction in the Power FC:

440/550= .8 aka 80%...so i change the injector setting in the PFC commander to 80% for cylinders 1-4

for injector latency:

(550cc latency minus 440cc latency)
.76-.69= .07

the Power FC only allows latency adjustment's in .2 (or even #'d) increments...so instead of .07...i made it .06

what am i doing wrong?

why is does my wideband AFR stay LEAN? (17+ AFR)

how do i correct this issue?

>>> What rpm is what AFR, 17 AFR @ idle is not problem as 17 AFR in boost zones.

Do you know about the RECALC function of the Dataloggit?

the 17. AFR's are at idle...under normal load the AFR goes from 17.-18., and under heavy load/boost 19.+.

the car is actually running rich though, i can smell it in the exhaust, and tell by looking at the spark plugs.

the wideband is going back to PLX for repair's and re-calibration...ive talked toa few tuner's and tech support at PLX devices...everyone agrees that the wideband unit is faulty out of the box.

i dont have datalogit yet...i do have the FC-commander.

.
where is it placed? Have you tried changing the sensor on it?

GET A DATALOGGIT, 20x20 maps, and recalc function as well as oh say LOGGING, seriously the Dataloggit is a must have for tuning.

+1 for the dataloggit if you need to do any serious tuning. And obviously your wideband is flaking out.

but you need to read up about AFR tuning. The appropriate AFR is highly dependent on rpm and engine load. your car may very well be ok to idle with a pretty lean mixture and cruise around like that too. But when you get into boost it will have to richen up significantly as I'm sure you know.
