Monitor Displayed Timing vs IG Maps
I had posted earlier that the monitor mode displayed timing (IGL & IGT) matches the IGL & IGT maps when above idle conditions. This was for a PFC not programed by XS. In other worlds it was programmed with the commander not with the power excel software like XS does.
We are still waiting for results for PFCs programmed by XS for those of you who have them.
What good is this forum if you-all do not do your part to increase our database of knowledge?

You'll have the data as soon as my car is back together (7-10 days). The DataLogit "group" didn't find a base ignition map. Since they were apparently able to find everything else the power excel software does, I think it's very unlikely that it exists. Also, XS did not alter the fuel correction map (only base map), but did alter significantly the ignition maps. (if base ign existed, they would have only changed those as well to protect their data)

As soon as I get my PFC back from SR I will post the maps. I bought the computer put it in the car then decided to put in bigger injectors, so I had to send it all back two weeks later to enlarge the injectors and retune my computer. (I figured it was better for SR to tune since its free then for me to attempt and screw something up) I should have everything back this week some time.

Alan,
One of my friends who has been talking to the DATALOGIC group was told the same thing and just told me today "the PFC does not have any hidden timing maps". From this latest info, the IGL and IGT maps are the true timing and only timing maps. Only the idle control is hidden.

I've got a xs map. So do you just want me to look at the map and note what it says the timing should be for a handful of rmps then run the car and see if the monitor mode data matches up with the maps?
I'll probably be able to check it sometime in the morning. I'll look at every 1K rmp from 3K - 7k and see if they match up.

First make a ghost map trace run to determine what boost row you are running in. Then make your runs with the monitor showing; IGL, IGT, RPMS, and the 4th what ever you want. Best to have an observer with you to take the readings and write them down. Compare the displayed IGL & IGT to what is in the P-row cell for the same rpm.
Note. If you are in row P17, most likely the timing used is an interpolation of both P17 and P18. Thus average out the two values.
IE. IGL P17,N15 = 11 and IGL P18,N15 = 8. (11 + 8)/2 = 9.5. Use 10
to compare to what the commander showed for 6000 rpm.

About those XS maps
I have a powerfc from XS... It appears to be basically identical to a map that I downloaded off this forum called "basemap2.xls".
Does this mean that XS just sent me a "plain vanilla" PFC? Or did they alter the base map that I can't see?
I don't care either way since I'm planning on tuning it to my liking, but it's good to know what I'm starting from.
