minimum pins needed for power fc operation?
ok guys was wondering if anyone knows the minimum amount of pins the power fc needs?..i currently been running a haltech for the last couple of years but since i always seem to try to "dable" into new things and ideas, im gonna try a power fc...i dont have the any of my stock engine harness left in my car but i still have the stock yellow ecu connectors laying around..so basically i need to know what exact pins are needed for the power fc to run correctly as im gonna cut any uneccessary wires at the harness..as with my haltech i figured the following pins are required:
1. MAP Sensor
2. TPS
3. Primary inj (rotor 1)
4. Primary inj (rotor 2)
5. Secondary inj (rotor 1)
6. Secondary inj (rotor 2)
7. Coolant air temp
8. Idle air temp
9. O2 sensor
10. Fuel pump
11. 12V constant
12. 12V Switched
13. Ground
14. CAS Ne+
15. CAS Ne-
16. CAS G+
17. CAS G-
18. Leading Ignitor
19. Trailing Ignitor 1
20. Trailing Ignitor 2
21. Radiator Fans
does the power fc need to have the exhaust overheat light for malfunction indication??
anyone have a pic of the stock harness with all the pins marked?
thanks!!! moderator could you "sticky" this cause im sure alot of people would be interested!!

I stumbled across your post looking for something else. Kind of lame that no one has responded to you so far.
The PowerFC uses all the harness leads/circuits except for four which must be specifically removed for US market cars. See the link below for the harness/ECU interface details of what pins are not used. The circuit numbers (so as to map to your list) can be derived from the Mazda electrical diagram manual.

The PowerFC uses the Check Engine light for malfunctions, excessive knock, etc. However, I believe it does use the exhaust overheat light to indicate fuel cut at overboost or something like that (like you could ever be looking down there under the driving conditions when that would happen).
