Knock Sensor readings
I am seeing some very high readings on my commander. They are almost always in the 100s. I have re torqued my knock sensor and that didnt work. My engine is brand new and i dont want to blow it. I am almost positive its just reading high. Anyone know how i can fix this problem?

Join the club, I have a brand new engine and while breaking it in I read 13 or 15 as the highest knock reading. I hit boost and ever since, even the slow driving it can shoot up to 209!!!!!! I have heard it's not reliable, but it scares the $hit out of me! Anyone out there know why it does this?

Hit the up arrow on your commander and it will show you what your max readings have been since you started the car. If it isnt the up arrow try the right arrow, its one of them.

OK so here is what mine has been doing.
Mine is being really wierd. After start-up I don't boost until it is at full temp >83 degC. The first time that I boost the knock readings usually shoot up im the 150 range sometimes a bit higer sometimes a bit lower. BUT forom then on I usually see consistant readings in the 60's. Does anyone else's car exhibit this behavior? I am curious as to what causes it.
BTW: I have also tried easing in the boost when I get on it the first time. for example only hit 5 PSI, then hit 7PSI and so on. But it will always seem to jump high that first time hitting full boost.

Retard some ignition timing under boost. I was reading over 100 knock when i first installed it. Once the timing was retardedi saw lower numbers but every once in a while it will spike up over 100 but overall reading i'm getting is around 50.

What kind of mods? but basically you start retarding ign. timing for Leading and trailing over 3200rpm under boost. pretty much from P15, R8 - P20, R20 start retarding timing like 2 - 5 degrees there and just work from there.
