Knock on PFC Commander

I see some pretty active knock on my PFC, and I believe in peak hold, I'm seeing 120. I'm just wondering what other people are seeing? I have the J&S knock sensor on the other rotor, and I'm not seeing anything, so I'm just wondering if the PFC is hopelessly sensitive, or what...TIA

You might want to check the stock knock sensor for proper torque. Locate the stock sensor and lossen it, then retorque it spec. I had the same problem and now it's gone. I see about 32-38 at cold start up now and no more that 30 once warmed.

Good idea, hadn't occured to me that the bolt might just be rattling around. I'll check that out.

Rely on your J&S; the readings from the PFC are relatively useless.

The only time they may be of value is if you see consistent numbers such as 60, or 100, and you see it jump to 120 or 150 once in a while.

Ask most people with a PFC and they will all tell you different numbers they see for knock. Most all people disregard the knock readings as one, they are not accurate, two, they read noise from the overall engine and most all of these engines the way they are setup will produce varied noise. (Use of DPs, Intake, no Air Pumps, etc. etc.)

I got 60 knock at peak. After I wash the engine compartment somehow I got 190 knock. I wouldn't rely on the stock sensor to much

the highers I get is 78. cruising about 2500 rpm gives me 35, cruising at 4krpm gives me about 40. cruising at 3k gives me 58, WOT is never a problem, however the times I get 78, 65, etc, is when shifting, and coming on and off gas from WOT.

I don;t know wether or not this is normal make me a little weary of driving my car, o2 readings never drop belew 89 on WOT. usually 91 or 93

If I remember correctly the knock sensor is to the left of the front rotor spark plugs. I get high numbers on my powerFC. I might try that tightening trick. I have dp, mp, and greddy PE so I figured it was picking up a lot of noise from it.

Can some people with tuned power FC's by XS or SRX7 post their knock #'s? I'd just like to see a comparison.

thanks

87 peak in the past 2 days of driving (just installed)
im also up at 7.258 ASL and i can only get 91 octane so im using octane booster. take all of that into consideration.
others at altitude i ahve talked to are getting similar #s.....they still worry me though.

My SRx7 tuned PFC normally shows about 30 to 40 at WOT, but with OCtane booster, drops to about 15 to 20 at WOT. Spyfish, is that the knock number you see now or with the maps that were advanced too much, causing knock o plenty?

Those numbers are all the time. My car is kind of loud when I get on it, so I am not too surprise. I am going to try that tightening trick before too long. I get like 30 something at idle and 40 or 50 at light cruise. Half throttle and a slightly up is in the 60s and WOT is like 80/90 so it has always been really high so I kind of have discredited my knock sensor.
