Just installed PFC and my idle was fine till i turned on my headlights. What gives?

So I installed the thing and let it idle for about 10 to 15 mins and then as I am about to drive it I turn on the headlights and the idle is surging and fluctuating up and down. Its fine when I turn off the lights. My idle is set a little high. COuld that be the problem? It drives great. I dont have the problems associated with pulling the wrong 4 pins on the PFC i.e. pulling back hard under boost. It drives great. Other than the idle with the lights on. Any ideas? I am going to try and adjust the idle down tomorrow and see if that fixes it. Also I heard someone mention turning off the open loop so it wont read the 02 sensor. How do I do that?

The same thing happened to me, but not as bad. I just closed the idle screw under the intake elbow. It was almost all the way closed already, so I just closed it all the way. Now It Idles great no matter what.

In the short time Ive been on this forum I can see why some ppl get annoyed.....lol.

This question must have a dozen threads to it......if you did some searching you wld of read its completely normal. Problem here is some of you seem to be so impatient you start f'cking w/ things before giving the new ECU a chance to break in on its own and learn its new enviroment.

Not sure if this helps at all....the idle will change on its own under different E/L's (electrical loads) that is completely normal. Even after its broken in unless you change the RPM range for those two parameters.
Cld it be that fluctuation you were experiencing? Possibly exaggerated w/ the normal break-in, screwy idling for the first couple of miles?
I guess now you'll never know since ya went and screwed w/ ur idle adjustment screw huh?

Gdluck!

actually I did search the posts. I saw lots of info about people cutting the wrong wires and also about the idle screw. It may not help that I think I have a vacuum leak. I let it run and I havnt touched the idle yet. I am trying to let it learn the car. How long does it take to settle in? Its embarresing in traffic.
