Rather than pull (or rather, cut) the pins out of the PFC unit I managed to use a small jeweler's screw driver to carefully open up the ecu harness connector and remove the pins from there. I definitely would not cut the harness wires either, since that damn thing is worth about a 1000 bucks.

Mr. Seven: You meant to open up the PFC itself and get to the pins from the inside???

You can open each harness connector using a small screwdriver by pressing the tabs on both sides. This will open the door on the rear of the connector which will expose the back of connector where the wires are connected. The tricky part is using a fine screwdriver to remove each pin from its connector hole. You need to insert a screwdriver into the hole from the front of the connector between the metal pin and the small plastic tab that holds it down. This will separate the plastic tab from the connector pin and allow you to slide it out from the back. If you make a mistake you can easily just push the pin back into the hole from the back of the connector to reverse the operation.

Obviously, this procedure is a little difficult to explain in words but I didn't have a chance to take any actual pictures. It took some time to figure it out (hard to get my head in there to see what was going on) but it was worth it for me not to have to damage the harness or the PFC. Just make sure you use a REALLY small screwdriver or some sort of pick tool that will fit into the connector hole.
