I'll be installing a used power FC in the next weeks, what is to be expected / what do I have to do? Most likely, the maps on it won't fit my setup, etc.

 

What is your setup. If it is stockish, you can reset the PFC and run the base map (to get around) until you can get it tuned.

TO reset the the PFC to base map, go to ETC, then to init all data, press next on Yes. Key off, wait, key on. You now have the base map and the PFC is ready to learn the idle as per faq.

Read the PFC manual as well. you can download it from this forum.

Best bet is either buy a Datalogit or find a local friend with a datalogit and compare the map that is created before/after re-initializing. You can also compare it to the default/original map that I once zipped and uploaded here to see what if any items werre changed (if you have a datalogit).

Rx7.com sells the datalogit.

 

I know some people with datalogit, but I would of liked to get around by myself

I'll read the manual, I didn't know it was available to download, thank you. It didn't come with the used unit.

my setup is (well, it will be, pretty soon) prettymuch the base mods, full exaust, intercooler, intakes, efini y-pipe.

How many mods can the stock map manage, does is it like the stock ECU, or does it work with more mods?
