Ign timing Judge Ito race streetport

I have the Judge Ito aggressive streetport porting templates and my engine is done now.

I was wondering if someone has a mildly adjusted ign timing map (PFC) to use ofr this porting.

I have an extra set of Irons I practised the porting templats on so basically I could 'measure' the degrees that the ports open sooner and close later compared to the stock ones as a reference (compared TDC and BDC).

Should that work?

You could just start with a base timing of around 12* igl at 15 psi, and then add 1 degree of timing for every 1 psi under that, and decrease timing 1 degree over that. Then tune it on the dyno. Set idle timing by engine smoothness if you're using manual idle control. Set split tapering from 6 at low boost to 15 in higher boost, and 0-3 split off boost. This should get you started.

Here is a large port using stock map sensor. It came from the UK. As always, add about 10% extra fuel for the boost section of the map for first AFR tuning.

It was for a large single turbo and look at the injector setup.

I'm currently still running the stock injectors on my non seq setup.

I see leading ignition gets advanced a lot by around 2k (and going up)

I find that, when using this ign map (slightly altered split timing) that the cars has a lot of hesitation noticable from around 3k and up wards.

When the engine hits 5k it alternatingly wants to 'go' and hesitates... I can feel there is a lot of potential, the engine is just holding it back.

I think the ign timing iw too advanced for my setup. What would be a safe margin to play with?

Hesitation is normally a fuel problem. You need to totally AFR tune all parts of the map which most owners do no do. Most only tune idle and boost and omit cruise and acceleration from cruise to boost acros the complete rpm range.
Compare this map to the base mod map and you will see it is a lot safer.

Thanks, I send my map to Pip at WGT Performance in the UK and he confirmed my mapping to be OK for my setup. (mostly ign that is)

I also see hesitation/bogging when tipping the throttle off idle.
idle is smooth but when pulling away, or tipping the throttle from iddle it first 'chokes' and then picks up.

I've used his template on numerous engines with no problems.

Rubber plugs? Who uses those?
