1987 rx7 tii. Power fc, obviously. 750/750. I can get the car to idle, be it rich as hell... but as soon as I touch the gas it leans out and dies.... any ideas? Tps is good, grounds are good, injectors are new. Just don't understand how it will idle so damn rich but then lean right out with barely any throttle...

Depends completely on the map and if parameters are set correctly. Fuel correction... injector settings... several things. I don't know if you have one but it would be extremely helpful to have the dataloggit and have everything hooked up to map. This questions as I've found out is not a simple answer. I too have an 87 t2... I'm tuning on it more this evening.

I have a datalogit I've got a log saved of idle and throttle push. Would an upload of that help?

You sure both rotors are running, ie spark and fuel?

I'll double check, but all seems well, I've heard a rotary only run on one, and mine does not sound like that.

It's acting as though the AFM is bad, but being a PFC it runs off a MAP... anyone have a test procedure for the map? Gm 3bar? I think, whatever comes with the banzai kit.

look at the sensor screen and make sure the MAP sensor actually works? feel free to apply vacuum and pressure to the sensor with the key on engine off, and watch it work

What base map are you using?

Post up pics of the commander sensor/switch screen and the monitor screen.

i also get this, im running a fd3s single. when its cold it wont idle its self, i have to put throttle input to keep it running, i carnt hold it at light throttle as it will lean out and die. once its up to 55c water temp then it will idle fine but still have the stumbling at part throttle. any more throttle and it is fine.

Mine starts up fine, idles fine, warms up fine, anytime I touch the throttle it dies. Still gotta get that info posted. Been busy.

ok, bumping this. I think its just the fact that its running the stock PFC map why im having my issues. Does anyone have a "base" s4 map or something s4ish that i can download and try to have a starting point?

You could download the Haltech software, load one of the s4 basemaps, and copy it. You sure its running on both rotors?

yes both rotors. getting frustrated that i checked and rechecked everything, got it to idle fine, albeit rich as hell but just a tap of throttle, dead... had to inch it forward and was able to just turn up the idle screw and let the clutch out and roll it.

I have gotten afrs to go down by tinkering. Im in no way comfortable really messing with it. I just bit the bullet and emailed Banzai for a new map. Gonna go from there. Im trying to sell the car without putting too much more money into it.

Sounds like you have the factory map sensor setting selected on your tune though you are using the GM 3 bar. This would make it's scale reference way off.

Soooo runs great, free revs fine, drives great, at low throttle/rpm. But while trying to give it some omph she stumbles hard, pfc controller telling me, no boost, only vacuum. So should I trouble shoot as an fc, or maybe something related to pfc?

sounds like a possible boost leak. Make a boost leak checker.
