you follow the instructions in the manual about letting it idle so the pfc can get adjusted?

Take it for an easy drive, not getting on it hard, but smooth acceleration. Then let it idle a few minutes more and it should have learned the car's control system.

I heard someone say their car took about 3 weeks to stop the idle 'surging', every car is different, mine was driveable within the 15 min time bracket

Flyinbiya,

I read on the other forum that if you rev it to past 6k it will help it settle down...

for what its worth, mine is doing the same thing (just installed tonight)

BTW, what version did you get??? I got version 5 for some reason and am alittle ticked

i'm not sure what version i got .but what i did do to mine is change the preset idle .if u pull your pfc manual its pretty easy to figure out.that helped alot but it has done it once since then.

Check you version for me...
it pops up right when you turn on your car...

I did adjust the idle but it was still doing it erratically...so I reset the PFC...

it seems better now and is hunting the idle better...

supposedly, you are suppose to let it idle for 10 min then turn on the defroster and let it run another 10 then the AC for another 10....this helps the PFC learn ur idle....

Flyinbiya,

how's your car idling???

To anyone....my idle is still erratic...

I had the stock ecu with mods of only a DP and catback...and the car ran and idled like a champ....with the PFC it will initially idle great but once I drive it around for awhile or on a real warm day....It won't hold the idle and stall...any ideas???

well i found out i have the version 5.but that really doesnt bother me cause i dont like to buy any computer software when it first comes out.do u remember how long it took microsoft to get all the bugs worked out of alll the windows programs?thats why i still have windows 98!i dont want that prob along with all the other typical rx7 prob's.yea my car is still idling funny ,the crazy thing is ,it doesnt do it all the time ?i just keep adjusting the idle from the commander and role with it until i can get to a tuner.

well,

for me about the different versions has to do with what I read about other cells for programming (I think)

I paid for a new PFC and commander and would lke to have the newest....it seems version 5 was out at least in 2001!!!!!

about the idle I think I got mine fixed.....

I will post a new thread
