Good results from emissions testing today

Did well on emissions today with the PFC. I re-installed the stock midpipe/cat and plugged the airpump electrical connector back in for the test. All the other emissions controls are still in the car and operational during the rest of the year. My timing map is a mix of Chuck's (cewrx7r1's) old 34X RWHP map (thanks for posting it Chuck!) and the base mod map (picking whatever was more aggressive). Split in vaccum is the same as the base mod map. I'm running -0.17 lag with stock injectors and 14.7:1 AFR's on the wideband at idle and cruise. I've spent ALOT of time riding the keyboard and commander to get it right where I want it.

The county inspectors spent 2-3 minues under the hood with a flashlight then threw me on the dyno.

Hydrocarbons limit - 220 PPM
- Idle - 12
- Loaded - 12

Carbon Monoxide limit - 1.2%
- Idle - 0.00
- Loaded - 0.00

Pretty sweet...and to think I was worried. Even the sniffer operator was surprised to see a rotary that clean.

Nice. I'm going to have to get my car tested again this winter. I failed over the summer but I had all my emissions equipment disconnected at that point, so I hope with a new map and the airpump I will pass. I have a friend in Prescott with a 93 R1 and he told me he doesn't have emissions testing there. Sounds like you got the short end of the stick in Tucson.

Yeah...Tucson & Phoenix metro residents have to deal with it. If you live outside of those two cities you're good to go in AZ.

Just a note to the many facing tailpipe sniffers, we had a club member in Houston pass the tail pipe test on the dyno recently with no air pump, was running a cat. Not sure if the machine was off but the car owner leaned it out during the test and it somehow passed.

I'm going to lean it out, setup the airpump to run continuously, and uncap the AWS nipple on my elbow so it can't build any boost. The last idiot that tested my car was boosting like crazy even though I told him to take it easy. I wanted to strangle him because I had just rebuilt my engine less than 100 miles ago.
