Going back to base map?
I'm going to be purchasing a used PowerFC and new Commander & Datalogit. It has been tuned for a car w/ Intake and Downpipe from what I'm told. I was curious if I should go back to the base map to run Intake, exhaust, downpipe, midpipe until I can get it tuned?
Also, what all will it entail? Since I don't have it yet I haven't seen how much I can/have to change. Will it be just as simple as slowly changing all the cells to match the base map in the Maps forum?
As a side note, which base map is best?
Thanks a bunch!
Marc

When you get your PFC, look in the manual and learn how to do an [All Data Init]. That'll take it back to the base map. You may want to add a little fuel if you're running a midpipe.

Well, being used it doesn't come with the manual for the PFC. The Commander is still in the box though.
I'm going to download the manual and print it out at work if it's not TOO thick... Anyways, I can't pass up the deal, $900 for the pair.
I planned on adding fuel and possibly even trying the Pedro Monsen map which had the dp, mp, cb, intake and intercooler. I'm sure with the stock intercooler that should keep me safe for the time being. Thinking of picking up the koyo while I have the extra cash to spend.

My manual came with the commander not the ECU itself. I'm not sure what you or the seller means by "still in the box" but I would assume that means brand new/unopened. IF that is so you should have gotten a manual. I bought mine awhile ago so apexi may be doing things differently now though.
Also, find out who tuned it. There are varying opinions on how effective certain shops are in tuning them. Do a search and you should find a good amount of info re shop modified maps.
Good luck/enjoy,
Chris C.

Okay that was my mistake then. I assumed he meant the manual for the PFC not the Commander. I will get the Commander Manual as it is New In Box. The PowerFC is not though, I was thinking of sending it to SR Motorsports to tune it for Intake, DP, MP, CB and 16PSI. I'll likely run 12PSI daily and 15PSI at the track, just want the extra area for that one time I don't notice the creep!
