getting ready to install PFC in FC3S

I have a few questions.

I have an AP Engineering PFC for FC3S and commander and . Right now I'm planning on installing it in two weeks or 3 weeks.

I dont have the pressure sensor yet. The are around $150 from Apexi.
is it worth getting a Apexi one or using a GM 3 bar sensor.

do I need anymore sensors? or need to change out any?

Use the APEXi one instead, it's a higher quality unit than the GM one, also it's a plug and play affair, with the GM one you have to cut and splice wires into the unit as well as adjust the polynomal for the map sensor instead of just choosing Option1 on the commander. You can even go about this cheaper if you're not planning to boost the car past 17psi initially, you can use a stock FD map sensor which will plug right in, and select Normal on the commander. NOTE: Hope your car is a 89-91 Turbo II because the PFC will NOT work on the 87-88 Turbo II.

Thanks for the information.

yes my car is 1990 Infini IV. I have a FD parts car that I can get a pressure sensor from. and I think I need to use FD air temp sensor also.

I had one installed on my fc3s on Monday. I only went down to do some work on the car yesterday and had a brief look at the map. There are few differences from the normal map you would get on the power fc for an fd3s.
But all seems to work ok.

Ok going to do the install in the morning. I have the Apexi map sensor and harness. Do I need to keep the old fc pressure sensor?

nope......first unhook your maf sensor and throw it at a wall. then unhook the harness plug and vaccuum line, unbolt the sensor, and take that out. i dont know how exactly the apexi map sensor is, but im guessing with the harness it was an additional option for the fc pfc kit, so u should just be able to plug it into the stock harness plug. connect your vaccuum line back up and then your good to go.

well its all installed. I decided just put the air temp sensor where the old FC once was. Car runs. cant wait to get it tuned.

when the car is cold and you start it. mine goes to 2k rpm and stays there until the water temp gets got 70c any tips on what to adjust to bring it back down? Im still running the bac valve. when the car is above 70c and you start it goes right to 750 rpm.

Haven't played with mine yet but will let you know towards the end of this week when I hopefully have time to tune it.
