FC install,,, done but issues, please help

hi guys,,ive waited a long time to get my power FC,,ive installed it but now im having issues,
1)firstly i had the idle issue,,,,where the idle would jump up and down,, after reading and searching on this forum,,,, and then playing with the throttle and idle screw i fixed it,,,,,,thought wow,,,lets take car for a test drive.

Now i have another issue,,,, when i throttle the car,,, the exaust temprature warning light starts flashing and the car is makeing a funny squeeling noise under the bonnet.... ive been reading once again that this is a sensor malfunction warning,, is this true,,, ive since put my original ECU back in and car is running just fine with that,,,no squeeling.

few little question,,, how do you establish which sensor it is,,,ive checked the sensor monitor screen,,,and nothings flashing or looks out of place.
my car is a japanese rx7,, the power FC i bought from japan is for RX7 1993-1995,,,do i need an FC specially for a japanese car or something.
also i noticed you guys have to chop some wires when you install your power FC,,, do i need to chop some wires,,, please any input at all,,,,into anything i mentioned above,,,,thanks

The only squeeling noise under the hood that I know of is either a pig got under there or a fan belt is slipping.

The PFC shows high knock levels or inj duty cycle with the exhaust temp light. Read the manual and check you knock level.

Search!

chuck man,,,i hear your the daddy with the power FC,,,i been none stop reading last 2 days,, the exaust warning light is exactly as you said warning for knock or injector over duty %,,,, a local tunning company tells me its the knock sensor going of,,,in fact they said the knock sensor on this car is a load of crap.
he told me to disable it on the commander.
ok now the squeeling...if i get you a good video of the noise maybe that will help. ive put the standard ECU back in and the squeeling has gone.

Why don't you pinpoint the position of the noise to idenitify it's source.
That is the next logical thing to due.

Does the air pump work with both ECUs?

I dont think you have to chop wires with japanese model

Ecu will work for either japan or us model (I have japanese model ecu and US model FD)

Throw the car in neutral and rev it to find the source.

Make sure you have the connector completely inthe PFC & none of the individual wires are coming loose.

Yes....

squealing can be belts.... should check those & maybe the air pump is giving way.

i first thought it was the airpump ,and unplugged it,,,its not the air pump,, another thing is it doesnt make the sound when you rev on the spot only under load and under boost,,, the weird thing is it doesnt do the sound when i have the standard ECU plugged in,,,im gonna put the power FC back in and see if i can locate the sound,,,, just a quick question,,,,are the base maps safe...my engine isnt gonna **** its self is it?

Base mod map is OK for starter modded engine but I never trust the fuel settings. Mine ran lean way back when I got my PFC, with only DP, MP, cat back and Greddy SMIC.

Should be safe for 10PSI boost until it is tuned. The MOD BASE MAP timing is too conservative for stock ports with all the rest of the mods.
