FC datalogit recognized by FC edit

I just received a FC datalogit and I was wondering what I need to do to get my computer to recognize the Datalogit. I bought the USB interface which is being recognized by the computer. Do you have to change com ports, turn engine on before. What steps do I have to go through?

Thanks for the help.

for some reason its different with different computers/connections. when i had usb and another laptop i had to change the com to either 3 or 5. i was able to simply turn the program on whenever i wanted. . . now, with a doodoo laptop with serial connection i have to have the car in the ON position (not started) and on com port 1. . . THEN and only then can i "read all". . . and THEN start it. weird

so yeah, first of all, try different com ports. . . if they dont work while the engine is running. . . then try them all w/o the engine running and simply in the "ON" position.

datalogit interface

Thanks for the info. I unfortunately haven't had anytime to play with it. I had boyfriend duties yesterday. I have friend come in today, so I won't have a chance till tomorrow. At least I can have somewhat of an idea what is going on.

Thanks once again.
