Does anyone know if the engine check light still works after installing the PFC?

I had my pfc for over a year, but hasn't notice that the check light doesn't come on anymore until now.

I remember it glows when you first put the key into ignition and turn it one click to power up the radio.

Or does it have to do with those wires that we cut?
