ECU (PFC problem, help appreciated

I have had my PFC for about 4 years now and 2 of those it was in myy previous car. Worked perfectly.

I sold the car but kept t he PFC for a later project..Which is where I'm at now.

It's 93 car with a newly rebuild engine, OEM wiring harness etc.

Engine:

all emissions removed, non sec twins, double throttle removed, thermowax removed.

So I plugged in the PFC and commander a couple of nights ago to check if I got some readings on the commander etc. Just checking everything before starting up for the first time.

On my previous car I had the 4 wires cut, here I haven't. The car should work both ways anyway...

Everything on the car (electrically) is working, except for the blower motor(cabine heating). This piece is being controlled by the ECU acc. to me because ECU uses it for fan motor speed. other heating related functions work.

When I turn the key to preignition position the exhaust overheat light in the middle console comes on as well.

What else?? the biggest connector to the PFC holds the power lines. Blue/red is ignition line which has constant 12V. The red/black line next to it is the 12V power line when the key is in preignition position. Conclusion.. the ECU has power.

What is the problem now? My commander isn't showing anything, ads in, not working. I read something about a brown line that could come loose in the commander. It's all good.
Opened up the PFC unit for a peek... nothing burned or anything...

So basically... I'm in the middle... I could either switch out the wiring harnesses as I have one from another car...or I'm missing something.

Does the PFC not work unless certain parts are on the car? For example, I don't have the spark plugs in yet.

Can the PFC be reset with a certain procedure? Can I reset the car's electronics in any way?

PS: all fuses are good. fuel pump is not working in preignition position. OEM ECU was sold long ago. PFC no commander enver experienced any hard shocks and worked perfect when it was removed from the car.

I'm a bit confused to say the least.

Any help would be more than welcome

Many thanks

PFC Model RX-7 Year Serial NBR Prefix
********************************
414-Z001 95.12~98.11 FD3S
414-Z002 91.12~95.11 FD3S2
414-Z003 98.12~ FD3S3
414-Z004 91.12~95.11 FD3S4
414-Z005 95.12~98.11 FD3S5
414-Z006 98.12~ FD3S6
********************************
Tthe 414-Z001, 414-Z002, and 414-Z003 can only use commander model 415-Z001.

Models 414-Z004, 414-Z005, and 414-Z006 can use either the 415-Z002 or 415-X001.

The 415-X001 is supposed to be a universal model that can be used with all newer P-FCs for most other cars Toyotas, Nissans, Mazda Etc. If you order a 415-X001 for an RX-7 it will come with the manual for an RX-7. So a 415-X001 for a MR2 should work with your newer model P-FC for an FD, but you wont get the car specific manual.

From a PFC site I found.

the car is from 1993 and my PFC is a 415-Z002... should work

what i'm asking myself is how much power input the ECU use to function? Now I have the red/blue wire as a constant feed, the red and black joins in when the key is in preignition.

Fuel pump is not working at preignition, interior fans do not work, commander does not work... So that tells me there is something with either the ECu or it has not enough input of power or singlas that tell the ECU it's good to go.

PFC ECU and commander already worked together before so that can not be a problem either.

I checked the powerlines to the fuel pump, fuel pump relais and fuse... all good. Connector at fuel pump has power but I think the fuel pump is fried.

I had another one coming anyway. On the other hand it makes the mystery continue...

Next thing I'm going to do is to see if the spark plugs fire. If that works, I'm pretty convinced that the ECU is OK and that the Commander is broken. Although I do not know what could have happened to it.
