Dynamics of Timing adjustments

CAn someone explain to me the dynamics of tuning the timing on trailing and leading. I think most of the power gains achieved by tuning would be in the timing maps. Can someone explain how and by what theories I woudl adjust it. I know the implications on detonation by adjusting it, but what about power?

thanks, I am just tryin got tune this bastard, and decidfing wethere or not I should mess with the timing maps.

Are all 4 maps now correct, or do some still have faulty cells? I remember a couple weeks ago someone was saying spyfish's map had a couple problem areas, have these been addressed?
Also do they all have the same stock(from apexi) base map, or have some been excel tuned? I heard that can throw everything off.

If these two questions have already been addressed I appologize. They may have passed by me in the massive sea of posts regarding which girl you'd want to marry, or what you're favorite song is ect bla bla

The faulty cells are not disasterous and can be easily determined and corrected with simply observation, or using Excell math functions.

Houston set #1 is mine and I have the corrected version at home plus it has my personal changes to inhance low end driveablity. I will dyno the results as soon as I get and install the Blitz FMIC from Jason.

If you want my PFC maps, mail me directly at
cewrx7r1@yahoo.com.

Here are my engine mods:
M2 cold air induction.
Non-seq turbos with clipped turbine wheels. Compressor outlets enlarged. Turbo housing modified for smoother exhaust flow.
Efini "Y" pipe set.
Greddy stock replacement IC.
Greddy throttle body inlet elbow.
Secondary vacuum throttle plates and their center support support removed.
The complete intake system is port matched to the metal gaskets from the turbo compressor outlets to the side housing intake manifold gasket. Intake port sizes are stock where they open up into the rotor chamber, but they are enlarged externally and the surfaces are smoothed. Even the ends of the turbo pipes and IC are chamfered to reduce turbulance.
The exhaust is full street ported, like what Ray Lochhead does.
The complete e-shaft with rotors and flywheel were dynamically balanced.
Mind Train down pipe.
Boenez hi-flow cat.
HKS turbo cat back exhaust.
SR power pulley.
Racing Beat aluminum flywheel.
ACT street/strip clutch.
Apexi PFC with commander.
NipponDenso high performance fuel pump.
N-Tech minature battery kit.
Craine HI-6R.
Taylor spark plug wires.
