Power FC Does lean combustion lead to knock ?
Does lean combustion lead to knock ?
all,
i just took out my O2 sensor replacing it with a wideband. i found out that my O2 sensor was quite white instead of black. this leads me saying that i'm quite lean.
but my knock level does not show anything more than 50 on WOT...
my question is.....
does leaness in the combusion cause knock ?
is it reliable for me to tune the car based on knock level?
BTw, i just got my wideband in. so.. i'm yet to see if i'm running lean or rich...
i'm relying my fren's datalogit to tune as i haven't got mine yet.

No, don't tune your car solely on the knock level! Tune it using the wideband while making sure the knock isn't going too high. High knock while running good AFRs most likely indicates the timing is too advanced.
Have you run race or leaded fuel?

normal high octane 97 gas....
dont' have much knocks... because my place here is blardy humid and hot... so... knocks at 40 is still normal.
how about whitish O2 sensor ? does it mean i'm running lean for quite a long time ?
