datalogit USB cable or USB adapt.?

YO....

so RX7.com sells the datalogit for 300. but my notebook does not have seiral port, only USB. Now the rx7.com rep. told me that for the USB verison, it's 70 bucks MORE! Is there a way to use the Serial port cable and convert to usb?

The usb verison, is it serial cable with usb adaptor?

Thanks

It sounds like you already found a solution, but I bought an ioport brand USB adapter (though I would guess that any brand should work) and use that. It works perfectly.

The late Gene Khan recommended the ioport adapter to me. RIP Gene.

USB is faster than serial as far as compter tech goes. i would think it depends on how fast the port is on the other end of the cable... not the computer end
