Dataloggit problems opening logs

I have been tuning a 93FD with upgraded twins for a friend of mine. I have done some tuning sessions to get him on his way. I taught him how to log data and use the map watch to log LM1 wideband numbers. Lately I have been tuning based on his logs so we dont have to gtg. he lives an hour away and it's been tough to gtg. He is uncomfortable making his own changes still, so I am remote tuning for him.

I can't seem to open up some of his log files. I updated to the latest version of the FC edit, and still they won't open.

If I go into excel and look at his log there is a blank row of data every other row in some of his files and not in others. I can open the ones without spaces, however I can't open the ones with spaces.

To correct this I sort the data in excel to get rid of the spaces and then I can open them. It's a pain in the butt, and I really want to figure out why it's doing this. Does anyone have an idea?? Thanks in advance - Justin from CT

Also a tip for you guys, is that if you have a few logs you can copy and paste them into excel one after the other with no spaces or headers between the data and save them as a text file. When you open them with the map watch all the data is there. Kind of nice if you have a log of low boost and high boost then you can combine all the data and just make one new inj correction map based on the composite data. I know most of my tuning sessions are sections of the map and not one massive map with every point of data colelcted. They get huge and i get worried that im going to lose tha data. Then I process if using my afr calculator and paste the new ##'s in the inj corr map.

Not a professional on the topic, and I don’t know the priority basic sensors have if any over advanced or auxiliary, but I suppose if the data cannot be assimilated fast enough it could possibly be skipping rows.

Is he pulling all data possible, or just what is needed to tune?

Sounds like the file got corrupted. Go in and delete the blank rows and resave, then try to open in the Datalogit.

Thanks for the reply's guys.

He is logging all the sensors. The sampling rate is still pretty decent. It doesn't seem to skip data points. There is simply a data row then a completely balnk row and then a data point. Almost like it is supposed to be there.

I can sort out the blank parts and get it working no problem. Question is why is it getting "corrupted" like this. It happens quite frequently. His logs are rather large ~2 megs each. Is this too much for the dataloggit to handle?

might sound dumb but format cell to see what the decimal point is set as or etc.
