Crank angle sensor question

Anyone know what functions the two sensors are used for? Curious to know which functions are specific to each sensor.

Crank angle sensor functions

One sensor lets the computer know every 30 degrees( the one sensing the mutiple tooth ) of rotation while the other lets the computer know where to reference top dead center( the one sensing one pulse per full rotation).
