Power FC Boost numbers: need your guys help!!
Boost numbers: need your guys help!!
Ok so here is the deal both me and suganuma are having very similar problems with our PFC boost readings and our boost gauge readings. Both of our gauges are reading low. Mine is reading 3 PSI low and his is reading 3.5 PSI low. I think we have figured out the cause of this problem. Elevation. I'm at about 5000 ft. and he's at like 7000 ft. or close to it, his higher elevation would explain his boost gauge and PFC reading being farther apart then mine. Wit the car off but the key on acc. Nic is seeing ~ -180 mm Hg which works out to be 3.5 PSI Hmmm, Ok so one would think that this would read at 0 but because of our altitude we are seeing lower pressure than you would see at sea level. Is it possible to change the MAP sensor readings (I.E. the PIM setting) so that it will look like it is actually seeing a pressure of O. Nic has talked to Ray at SR who basically said he didn't know about changing the PIM settings, but would check into it. So there has got to be some of you guys out there that have PFC's and do not live at sealevel. Do you guys see any similar problems and what altitude are you at. I know i've seen guys post about the PFC and boost gauges giving different #'s, could this be a common problen that is linked with altitude??? Has anyone with a similar problem found a way to fix it? I'm looking for any info here guys and it would be greatly appreciated. As we would like to get a solution to this problem before we go racing this weekend.
Thanks,
Dane
