The one thing I dont like with datalogit is that there are no graphical displays for the watches. Like you cant display the watches as guages say (tacho, speedo, knock, inj duty, bla bla bla) like you can with the likes of Link and some others.

Oh, I plan on doing much more than simple grids with numbers.

I'll keep that feature a surprise.

Will there be external logging ability such as for a wideband input?

I can't see why not. Right now, my priority is to exploit the PFC exclusively. My wideband can emit a linear voltage output which will replace the stock o2 signal so that the PFC reports sensor values to the software (passthrough).

You know what would be awesome....... if you could make the watches look like a digital dash! That way you could replace the cluster with a touch screen and have a Car PC running live data right in front of you. More then just tuning software! A whole tuning/dataloging/digi dash solution all in one.

I would use it as a secondary setup in the DIN if this was an option. LCDs suck in direct sunlight.

you could sink it pretty far into the dash to give it a fair bit of shade couldn't you?

even so, just being in a bright environment has it fallback. Light can come through a passenger window as well.

NeoTuri, as far as this software how has progress been? I'm wondering if you are able to remove the minimum injector duty. Light loads and and idle are a bitch sometimes with 850 primaries.

Right now, I've been rewiring the car. I'm nearly done with relocating the battery and fuse boxes. In fact, I have eliminated the relay box and distributed the relays around the car closer to the parts they control.

Injector duty: I've not thought to experiment with that, but it would be worth a try.

I have to warn you though, even if I got the intended minimum duty down to 1%, there is a physical latency of the solenoid valve (due to fuel pressures) that cannot be over come in software.

Right, i think the PFC limits to around 3% so even getting it to 2% could be an improvement if it is possible. Light throttle at 11:1 a/f is killing me in many cruising situations.

are there any 'hidden' tables on the PFC that nobody has figured out? Or hidden/misunderstood parameters to log? I am most interested in the idle control circuit, the self learning and whatever internal ISC duty cycle map the PFC has. I'd like to be able to log ISC duty cycle and adjust the idle ignition control logic so that idle can be stabilized better while keeping the ISC valve.

Also, is there a way to enable switchable outputs on the datalogit box as was originally intended?

There are additional tables in the EPROM which are not accessible over the interface as well as "default tables" in the CPU. I do not understand all those settings yet.

For all tables there are additional settings for "min" and "max". For example there is a setting for 10200rpm (max) and 0rpm (min) for acceleration enrichment. The values (enrichment) are set to the same as 5000rpm/1000rpm.

Also note that there are individual rpm settings for enrichment and decay. If you update the table over the official interface both rpm columns are set to the same values.

Also all "fixed" values can actually be changed in the EPROM:

Fasthatch, what EPROM reader/writer are you using with the PFC?

I use the SmartProg Programmer from Elnec.
You can open the EPROM "dumps" in Tune, change everything and then save the file and write it back to the EPROM with the programmer (like chip tuning).

Fasthatch - Do you expect to have a working version of your software in the near future? Maybe you and the owner of this thread could work together to get something finished? Just a thought to ease the workload on you guys.

It would be BRILLIANT to see a piece of software like this finshed....or at least released for testing. Let me know if theres anything someone with photoshop could do?

Not sure about the near future because my workload is pretty high till December
I'm currently finishing support for HD1 (FC Pro = Power Excel) and BIN (EPROM dump) files.

I'm thinking about whether I could write a PFC related master thesis next year.

Not Photoshop, but vector graphics with Expression Blend. You could design some gauges / dashboard.
