basemap v5.08

So I have decided to just use the powerfc basemap v5.08 since I cant seem to find a safer IGL and IGT map to start with. I have read from the previous post that V2.01b ignition timing is close to stock thats why Im kinda looking for one. But for now I will use the V5.08 (new version). I have also read the the timing for the new version is alittle unsafe towards pass 10psi if so here is a noob question... is it Leading I should decrease timing by 4 or is it Trailing? Also does anyone know if using the V2.01b is really safer? If so where can I find it...

Oh man! Thank you! Which should I use? Which one is safer across the board? If I where to use the V2.01b I was just going to use V5.00 fuel map... unless you happen to have that too. Hey where did you find these? I do have a wideband so i can just adjust them accordingly. My mods are, stock motor, greddy intake, stock greddy intercooler, down pipe, test pipe, and apex gt catback. I havent dyno since I dont have a solid map to really play with...

5.08 is safe timing for high boost, 2.01 is not safe. Use 5.08 and only need to change the split if you want to.

All four default maps, 2.01B, 3.11, 5.08, and 7.07, can be found in the PFC tuning group in .dat format.

How do i richen up some of the boost cells? or can i just use PIM? I have highlighted some of the boost rows to richen them up under INJ map and write them all on the power fc via datalogit but somehow the AFR still show pretty close from my last run and nothing changes. Or do I need to recal basemap? if I do the car runs really bad and really rich...

You highlight the cell you want to change and insert a new value. It's good to make small changes at a time and test/datalog but you will notice that very small changes are barely noticeable on the wideband datalogging. So you just have to keep doing it. You don't want to make big changes at one time. You don't have to recalc and that alone won't make it run different. You can usually see a small change in the afr if you change the cell in the inj map by about 2 or 3%.

I see. yea i was starting to worry cause the AFR doesn't seem to change but after a hard drive here and there I finally realize it did change but very little. The V5.08 is actually pretty clean and I have also retarded some timing on the trailing to have 10-15 neg split after p10 and on. Im just trying to clean more of the knock noises especially in the boost areas. My highest knock so far is about 50 and with AFR of 11.8-12 at around p12-p15. Im still trying to richen those areas though. But as far as Ign timing I think im good for now. thank you guys for all your help.
