Power FC Base map running mega rich
Base map running mega rich
Just connected my wideband up and at idle its running ar 10.5 AFR.
While driving its running no higher than mid 12's and at cruise its running in the 10's/11's
The injectors are stock and its half bridge ported so I would have though it would run lean. Anyone else having this problem??
I have turned down the primary duty to 80% so idle is in the 13's

David,
Secondary port size/overlap will have little affect at idle and cruise as compared to wide open throttle on boost. Your fuel maps are too rich, or your injectors are not set up correctly.
My car was decently tuned for cruisng up to 60mph but not above, still a little rich al over. This last week I retuned cruise from 35 up to 100mph including leaning out the low end some more.
Low cruise like 35 to 45 mph needs to be richer than higher speeds. My 8.5lb flywheel is partly to blame.
My idle is in the high 12s.
35 to about 45mph I tuned for 16.
50 to 90 I tuned for 16.5.
Above 90 is 16.
Since doing this, my O2 sensor is clean even after city driving. It use to always
come out soot covered. My tailpipe is also cleaner.
Look at the Datalogit Fuel Corrections.xls that I sent you. It is not excatly my current AFRs, but close.
You need to AFR tune your whole map.

I'll have to do it when i get my datalogic as usign the commander is just a pain in the *** for doing the whole map.
I wouldn't have thought the base map would be that rich.
I'll print off the document and compare them.
Thanks for the info chuck.

Beware that the half bridge might indicate an AFR that's richer than it actually is due to the overlap. You may want to consult someone running a half bridge to get some better insight into target AFRs, but that does sound way too rich at cruise and idle.
