bad idle (after installing power fc)
ok then i installed power fc today, followed dale clarks instruction to learn it how to idle:
just plugged it in, turned the engine off and let it running for 10 mninutes, then i turned rear window heat on and left it for 10 minutes and then the same with AC, after all that i switched the engine off turned it back on and idle sounds rough, it goes up and down for a while and then goes down to 900 and sits there, but after i turn the engine off it sounds like it starts learning idle again...
the manual i used (dale clarks 1) says to turn the flat head screw under the elbow just between 2 bottom screws to adjust it, it says 1/2 to 3/8 so i did 1/2 and it sti9ll sounds the same what is it? what am i doing wrong?

There as never been a one-fits-all-perfect ecu for any car, but normally the PFC works decently. Time for you LEARN how to fine tune using the Commander.
I assume you now the basics of fuel injection and how the FD RX-7 engine control systems work. If not, fine someone locally.

I wanted to know if its normal for a PFC to be hunting at idle if it came from another car ? I have a New PFC in my car (Jap-Spec) that's working normal. I pulled it out and stuck in a another PFC, but got this one from the US , with the designated pins removed , re-writed the existing mapping (with my Beige Datalogit ) from my New PFC into this Used one, then tried to start the car. It started kinda differently compared to my New one. Had to tumble the motor a couple times before it started, then it went into a HUNTING idle, and the exhaust was smelling rich. Does this Used one have to go thru the LEARN idle process as well or should it have behaved similar to my NEW PFC ?
Regards
Rana
