Fact: there are 3 versions of the Apexi Power FC available for 3rd Gen RX7s.
- One for RX7 FD versions 1-3
- One for RX7 FD version 4
- One for RX7 FD version 5

Can anyone confirm for me if the one for version 5 (model number 414Az006) will work on a 2002 Spirit R?

nengun.com suggest it is for Jan '99 - Sept '00 model RX7 FD's.

I can't find listings for PFC's for post-Sept-2000 RX7s so I'm assuimg this one will work on any RX7 up to 2002 also? (ie. should be the same 16 bit RX7 for all Series 8's right?)

shows the FD3S6 PowerFC model to be good from late 98 to present. As far as I know, the '99 year was the last change of anything in the car - I just don't see any reason for them to make any dramatic ECU changes after the '99 upgrade.

So, it *should* work. Might want to see if you can find some Japanese web pages with other Spirit R owners and see if any of them list a PowerFC in their mods.

Yes i think the one I bought, even though it says its for FD series 5, the little slip in the manul says it is a PFC model FD3S6.

Ollie is your Spirit R fairly stock or have you done a bit of work to it?

 

stock. has recing beat exhaust and blitz induction kit only. the base map made the car pop when decelerating though...
